The Ealing Borough - The home of countless Rock Legends!!

Mitch Mitchell (1947-2008), Jimi Hendrix's drummer, grew up in Ealing, and he had lessons with Jim Marshall, the man who went on to create the famous Marshall amplifiers. At Marshall's music shop on Uxbridge road, rock legends Ritchie Blackmore and Pete Townsend came to play his guitars and encourage him to design a new kind of amp. Later Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix would also come to his shop...

The Who were formed in Acton - Townshend, Roger Daltrey and John Entwistle went to Acton Grammar School.

Fleetwood Mac's John McVie was born and grew up in Ealing.

The Rolling Stones' Ronnie Wood and Queen's Freddie Mercury both went to Ealing Art College.

Soul legend Dusty Springfield grew up in, yes...

Ealing is also the birthplace of two of the biggest names in 1990s jazz-funk... Jamiroquai and The Brand New Heavies.
